My day.
Well today has been interesting.
I went to my parents to visit my sister whos staying for a bit and everyone bundled into the parents car for a trip to the stiperstones.
The climb up the hill nearly killed me, but it was worth it for the views. I have some fantastic pictures from the day, incl. a panoramic one.
I've picked out some basics for the water injection design for the daihatsu, too. Hopefully I'll get some of the requisite sensors in the next day or two (if they arent too pricey...) I need (in particular) a 1bar MAP sensor and an ACT sensor to allow my system to measure the characteristics of the air in the intake plenum - temperature and pressure.
The solenoid to control the water injector arrived too, so its all starting to come together. A trip to the scrappie should source me a nice pump and water reservoir, too. All I need then is a suitable nozzle, some pipework, and to get an adapter fabbed up to allow me to fit the nozzle to the knuckle on the pipe fitting that feeds the plenum (will need to get that fitted by an aluminium welding specialist).
Oh and I'll need a pressure regulator for the water pressure line.
once the hardwares done, I'll use my (as yet not arrived) new toy - a USB digital scope / logic analyser to read the sensors and (via a couple of FETs) drive the solenoid / pump, under the control of my laptop. once I dial in the parameters it needs to operate, I'll program them into a PIC or something and make a little stand-alone control box for the thing.
